NCSGA Funds Re= quest Form 2005-2006

A.&n= bsp; Proced= ure –

= a. = Recognized Student Organizations must have membership information and their organizati= on constitution on file in the Student Activities Office.

= b. Student organizations will be allotted funds based on the number of members in the organization and the student activity fee that each student pays Newberry College at the beginning of each semester. The maximum amount = of money that the NCSGA will allot to any given organization is 50% of each student’s activity fee multiplied by the number of members in the organization as stated on your membership form in the Student Activities office. You may ask for any a= mount, but the NCSGA will award a maximum of 50% X Student Activity Fee X # of Mem= bers in the organization.

= c. = Organizations must complete a Funds Request Form located in the Office of Student Affairs, the NCSGA website, or the NCSGA Treasurer and return it to the SGA mailbox = (Box B-92) by the deadline as stated on the form.

= d. NCSGA will schedule a funds hearing to allocate money to those organizations that have submitted a request. The= SGA Executive Branch will conduct the hearing.

= e. = NCSGA Executive Branch will discuss each proposal and vote on allotment of funds based on the following criteria:

= = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; i. &nb= sp; Organi= zation standing.

= = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; ii. &n= bsp; Overal= l long and short term usage of monies allotted.

= = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; iii. &= nbsp; Maximum number of students benefited at Newberry College.=

= = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; iv. &n= bsp; How the money is used to benefit the college itself.

= = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; v. &nb= sp; Overall validity and practicality of request.

= f. = NCSGA will distribute funds to each organization th= at was approved at the following regularly scheduled SGA meeting. Organization presidents or a representative from each of the awarded organizations must be present to ac= cept their checks.

= g. = NCSGA will send a letter and reason why a proposal was not approved for funding to each organization that was not approved.

= h. = Organizations that received money must submit all receipts and money not used to NCSGA by= the end of the semester in which they were allocated the funds

= i. = Any organization that fails to turn in their receip= ts and money not used by the end of the semester will not be eligible to recei= ve funds the next semester. Two violations of this policy will result in the organization being placed in a “not authorized to receive SGA funds” status.

= j. = NCSGA will deposit money and return receipts into t= he Business Office. At the end o= f each semester, an analysis will be conducted of each NCSGA account. Any remaining monies will be place= d into the NCSGA General Funds.

= k. The attached form will be used to request funds.
