Delta Omicron - Alpha Psi Chapter is located at Newberry College in Newberry, SC. We are one small part of Delta Omicron, the International Professional Music Fraternity. The International President is Johnnie Ramsey. We are in the Eta South Province, with Kelly Moore as our Province President. We have a wide variety of members, ranging from Music Education, Music Performance, or Applied Music majors to music minors and those that love music but are not majoring it. Anyone who desires to promote the furtherance of American music and composers is welcome.
Delta Omicron was founded to create and foster fellowship, to develop character, and to arouse and encourage the appreciation of good music and performance among musicians during 6their student days so that the highest degree of musicianship might be attained individually.
To create and foster fellowship through music.
To give music students an opportunity to meet with one another and, by personal contact and exchange of ideas, to broaden the individual outlook.
To strengthen a devotion and loyalty to the Alma Mater.
To develop character and leadership.
To encourage the highest possible scholastic attainment, excellence of individual performance, and appreciation of good music.
To give financial aid to worthy music students.
To manifest interest in young musicians entering the professional world.
