POSSIBLE RESEARCH PROJECTS
To complete one of these projects you would sign up for BIO 491 or 492 (Research in Biology)

• Catalog the plant collection in the herbarium, including development of a searchable database.
• Collect and identify plants as part of a flora project.
• Collect and identify insects as part of a fauna project (ex. at Lynch's Woods).
• Photograph plants or animals in Lynch's Woods and use them to develop a webpage on the biological diversity of the park.
• Development and test a new lab for Botany (BIO 201), Ecology (BIO 431), or Environmental Science (SCI 112).
• Other projects as approved.

OTHER TYPES OF PROJECTS
To complete one of these projects you would sign up for BIO 495 (Internship) or BIO 499 (Senior Essay)

• Serve an Internship at an off campus site which related to Biology (BIO 495)
  For example: at the Department of Natural Resources, The Nature Conservancy, or South Carolina Wildlife Federation.
• Complete a library research paper on a current issue in science (BIO 499)
  For example: write a paper on the history of problems with Vioxx. (this type of paper would fulfill a CACP level 3 credit)
