Nature at its best in Newberry County, South Carolina
VASCULAR PLANTS GROWING IN LYNCH'S WOODS PARK
list prepared by Charles N. Horn
This list is the result of field work between May 2002 and August 2005. Species are arranged scientifically by major botanical groups (ferns, gymnosperms, and flowering plants), then alphabetically by plant family. Scientific names follow the classification used by Alan Weakley (University of North Carolina) in his forthcoming book Flora of the Carolinas, Virginia, and Georgia.
Following each species is it's common name. Names prefixed by an asterisk (*) are not native to the area. As of December 2005, a total of 528 species had been observed and documented in the park. The list is part of a scientific manuscript submitted for publication in a scientific journal.
